How to Connect Computer to TV?
There are a several way you can connect your computer to a TV. The following ways you can use:
1. Using a HDMI cable.
2. Using a VGA cable.
3. Using Wi-Fi.
Using a HDMI cable:
HDMI means high-definition multimedia interface is a connection which can send high definition audio/video. Follow these steps to connect your computer to your TV using HDMI cable.
- Be sure both your computer and TV are off.
- There is an HDMI socket at the back of your computer. It may be labelled HDMI. There is also a same HDMI port on your TV. The HDMI cable should have the same connector on the both ends. Connect your computer and TV with that HDMI cable.
- Open your TV. Using the TV remote press the Input button to change the input of the TV to HDMI. Some TVs automatically do this when they can detect a signal.
- Turn on your computer. Right-click on the desktop and go to Display settings.
- From display settings menu find the Detect button and select it. In the display settings window you can see two squares which are labeled 1 and 2. That means your computer may be already detected your TV.
- Click on the Identify button.
- Then click on the Multiple displays drop-down box. You can see there a few options from that you can choose how your computer show on your TV. Select an option from there.
- Click the Apply button.
Using a VGA cable:
VGA cable is an older connection which sends only the video. You need to use a male-to-male audio cable to get sound from your computer to TV.
- Connect your computer to your TV using the VGA cable.
- Connect your computer and TV with a male-to-male audio cable.
- Using the TV remote press the Input button to change the input of the TV to VGA. Some TVs automatically do this when they can detect a signal.
- Right-click on the desktop and go to Display settings.
- From display settings menu find the Detect button and select it. In the display settings window you can see two squares which are labeled 1 and 2. That means your computer may be already detected your TV.
- Click on the Identify button.
- Then click on the Multiple displays drop-down box. You can see there a few options from that you can choose how your computer show on your TV. Select an option from there.
- Click the Apply button.
Using Wi-Fi:
- Enable Wi-Fi mode. If you don’t know how to do it follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Connect the TV with the same Wi-Fi network of your computer.
- Right-click on the desktop and go to Display settings.
- Then click on the Multiple displays drop-down box. You can see a few options there. Select the Duplicate this display option.
- Click the Apply button.
- Go to Settings from the Windows menu of your computer. This will open the main windows settings.
- Click the Devices option then go to Connected Devices.
- Click Add a device option. It will start to search the connected devices on the network.
- Select your TV when it is appeared on the network. Then your TV will be connected automatically with your computer.
