How to Record Your Computer Screen?

On Windows computer you can record your computer screen easily by using screen recording software. There are several screen recording software. Here we are giving a description of recording computer screen using OBS (Open Broadcast Software) Studio.

• Download and install OBS Studio.
• Launch OBS Studio. To find it go to Windows option and type OBS Studio and click it.
• Select Ok button when it is prompted. It opens the OBS Studio window.
• Then select Yes on the Auto-Configuration Wizard window.
• This will open a window. From there check the Optimize just for recording box.
• Click Next button twice.
• Select Apply Settings option.
• Click the + icon below the Sources heading.
• Select Display Capture and click Ok below the New Capture window and again click Ok below at the subsequent window.
• Then click Start Recording at the bottom-right corner of the OBS Studio window.
• If you want to stop recording just press the Stop Recording button placed in the bottom-right corner of the OBS Studio.
• Your recording will be completed.
• If you see any error which says Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details then follow the following steps to fix it.
• Click Ok on the error message. Then go to Settings option on the OBS Studio window.
• Click Output on the Settings window.
• Go to Encoder drop-down option and click Software (x264).
• Select Apply and the click Ok button.

There is no built-in screen recording option in Windows computer. If you just want to record games then there is a built-in screen recorder Game Bar for recording games. To do it follow these steps:

• Go to Windows > Settings > Gaming > Game bar.
• Turn on the game recording option.
• Open the game you want to record.
• Press Windows + G buttons at the same time.
• Select Yes, this is a game option.
• Then click Start recording or press Windows + Alt + R at the same time to start the recording.
• Click Stop recording or use the same shortcut to stop the recording.
• Your recording will be saved automatically in your Videos folder in MP4 format.
