Difference between Internet & Intranet


Internet: Internet is a connection of all the connection worldwide. So the information on the internet is gathering from all over the word and anyone can collect data from there. As all the computers are connected on the internet there is a unique identification for each computer. It is called Internet protocol (IP) address which is used to identify each computer.
In the internet one can share data from one computer to another. For sharing these data there are a lot of protocols. The protocols depend upon the type and transfer mode of the data. Internet can provide unlimited number of data from user to under. There id no limitation about the quantity of information so internet is broadly used all over the world for acquiring and giving information, commutation, transfer data and many other purpose. The idea of the internet was given by the us Deface organization ARPA (Advanced Research Project agency) in the late 19605.

Intranet: Intranet is similar to internet but misted of global connection it is a private connection. Is other word it can be said that intranet is a part of internet based on he connect of a few number of computer. Generally intranet is used by an organization on a firm privately.
The main purpose of using intranet that it is bugle secured for transferring data, information, files, and materials within a specific organization. Intranet is very secure network which is used inside the specific organization and allows to pass the data only through the register computers. Intranet contains only a specific kind of information and it uses internet protocols, network connectivity to access and share the information of the organization.

  • Both Internet and Intranet can be accessed by the browsers.
  • Both have instant message service. Users can send and receive text messages.
  • Internet protocols are also used in intranet to transfer data.
  • The main purpose of both internet and intranet is shoring data and information.
